George Coleman to Speak at Shanghai Education Forum

The Shanghai Education Forum has invited George Coleman, Deputy Commissioner of Education, to speak at Asia's most prestigous education conference in Shanghai, June 27 and 28. Coleman's itinerary will also include visits to schools in Shanghai and Jinan, Shandong Province, where Connecticut has established over 75 school partnerships. He will be hosted by the Shandong Provincial Education Department in Jinan and by the China Education Association for International Exchange, Ministry of Education in Beijing. Daniel Gregg, Social Studies Consultant and Director, Connecticut Shandong School Partnerships, will accompany Mr. Coleman in his visit to China in late June/early July.

Shandong Teachers Funded

The Shandong Provincial Department of Education has announced that funding has been provided for two groups of teachers to have professional development in Connecticut in the fall of 2007. The teachers will be hosted by their partner schools.
