Turning Bricks Into Jade: Critical Incidents for Mutual Understanding among Chinese and Americans is a book to read for this summer. The book is authored by Mary M. Wang and published by Intercultural Press in 2000. The book offers incidents presented with a dilemma or misunderstanding brought about by cultural differences in expectations and behavior. Each incident is followed by a discussion of possible solutions with explanations.

In 1986 Connecticut established a trade agreement with Shandong Province, Peoples' Republic of China. In 2003 the Connecticut State Department of Education signed an education agreement with Shandong Province. This site is primarily used to prepare delegations for field study or the establishment of partner schools in China.
